Our mentors value their experiences, telling us that they learn
and grow through the PALs relationship. They feel most effective
in alleviating PALs’ negative feelings about themselves.
Many volunteers in our program have developed longstanding friendships
with our youth.
Mentoring simply makes sense: by making links between people and
drawing on our best motive—to provide a helping hand to a
child—it makes citizens more concerned and engaged.
