Parents' Resource for Information, Development, and Education

 


PRIDE (Parents’ Resource for Information, Development, and Education) classes cover issues that foster parents might encounter with foster kids.

The classes are divided into 10 modules:

Meeting the developmental needs of children at risk

Using discipline to protect, nurture, and meet developmental needs

Addressing developmental issues related to sexuality

Responding to the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse

Supporting relationships between children and their families

Working as a professional team member

Promoting children’s personal and cultural identities

Promoting permanency outcomes

Managing the impact of placement on your family

Understanding the effects of chemical dependency on children and families.

Two more Educational Advocacy sessions focus on advocating for foster children in schools.
